Default VVT Seals

Mine were replaced about a year ago and now one weeps! Is it possible to pull it out, clean and try re-installing with some kind of sealant? If so, how?

You can definitely pull them out and check them. Cleaning them and the surrounding area would not hurt. Check if they already hardened or cracked. Sealant is always a tempting proposition but I always fear any excess will drop in and end up plugging up the wrong oil passage. I would personally replace them instead of taking my chances with a sealant. Your car. your call.

Best of luck, keep us posted.

How do you pull them? Undo the wire connector and pry out?

Very carefully just pry out the seal and clean all surfaces and just push it back in. When the weather improves, will take a run to see if it worked!
