Default What is this connection for

While putting in a new battery I found this. Next to the battery is this open female plug receptacle and what I assume is the male matching connector has a plug in it. I am not aware of anything not working on the car but I'm curious about this connection's purpose. Thanks.

Probably for the transit isolation relay - do not let it short but tuck it safely out of the way.

There are plenty of unused connectors round the car that should also be ignored.

It's installed by Jaguar as their entry in the highest post competition where it's in second place below the "best oil" question.

As stated above, it's the harness connection for the Transit Relay which is removed and discarded during PDI.

The connector is then tucked away behind the trim waiting to be discovered by a new owner months or years later.
