What is it which makes the X100 so unreliable?

It's obviously so reliable that he's been driving and not posting problems here.

I question if this is the Jaguar XK8/R seven month version of YouTube's "Pink Ping Pong Ball".

I've been driving my new to me 07 XKR Coupe the last 3 weeks exclusively. My mom has been driving my X100 XKR Convertible during this time as I fix up her new to me Nissan Maxima. 110k and 18 years old on the 00 XKR, but well cared for. My mom has had no issues, likes the trunk size, likes the simplicity of the controls compared to the 07 XKR, and it's been uneventful.

I daily all of my stuff; with the XKRs being stored during snow and salt season. Haven't had a true breakdown in about 4 years on my 2000 XKR, and no breakdowns in the 3.5 years I've owned the XJR. Stuff breaks but I've always made it home and fixed it easy. The biggest thing by far is regular inspections and preventative maintenance. It's amazing how much reactive work goes down when you perform religious preventative work.
