I've got about 4,000 miles on a set of BFG Comp-2 All Season tires on my '02 XKR. They seem quiet to me. Traction wet or dry is very very good, as expected.

Default UPDATE

Inspired from very good reviews from the BMW boys I decided to try out the rather cheap Kumho Ecsta PS 91 275/35R19 rear - 245/40R19 front for this season.
Michelins PS next if the Kumhos fail to do the job.

Until now they have done 4000km ( including 161mph test run at the German autobahn ) and everything is good and very low noise.
Only complaint will be that the side walls are so soft that the tyres needs 1-2miles of driving before the drive is 100% smooth and free from vibration.

Also, in my opinion, they perform better with a higher tyre pressure than what Jaguar suggest ( 2.2bar )
3.0bar rear and 2.8bar front is what the BMW boys use, and that seems to work well with the XKR too.

As most tyres gets more noisy as they age, maybe a fresh set of cheap Kumhos every 2-3 year could be the way to go for people like me who only use the car in the summer time and do low milage.

Now I'm at 6,000 miles on my BFG Comp-2 All Season tires. They seem OK at high speeds. No Autobahn here, so I haven't hit 161 mph yet, but the tires seem very stable at 130 mph and under.

I now have over 50K miles on my front Michelin Pilot Sport AS3 tires and they are almost worn to the wear markers. They are still as quiet as ever with no odd wear patterns.

I replaced the rears at about 40K miles with AS3+ version.

Considering the life I got out of AS3, I plan to replace fronts with AS3+.

I'll add to the Michelin Pilot Sport AS3 recommendation. Low noise/ great ride & handling/ reasonable cost/ excellent tread life. I first started buying Michelins in 1972 and have been an avid fan ever since. Only brand of tire I'll buy.

Today I finally replaced my Michelin Pilot Sport AS3 tires on the front. Got 53K miles out of them and they were worn uniformly across and down to the wear markers thanks to good upkeep on the suspension bits and regular alignments.

Replaced them with later gen AS3+ this time which is what I put on the rears when I replaced those at about 40K miles.
