Default What is the part number?

Hello Folks,

When I acquired my beloved cat I noticed that there was nothing covering the space between the back of the glovebox assembly and the bulkhead.

I am assuming there is a sort of top (ceiling?) facia panel which isolates the passenger footwell from the electrical looms which are now visible.

The other effect is that the heating seems to be constantly directed at my girlfriends legs!

I looked at as many parts manuals etc as I could find but can't find the part listed.

I am hoping somebody knows what the part number is and its correct name.

Thanks for looking and regards to all on this cracking website.

Larry

It's a 2002 XKR convertible by the way!

Lmfao. Minnie, I don't think there's supposed to be anything there isolating you. My car is the same. But, if you don't want her legs cooked, you know you can just toggle with the A/C settings and have it blow only towards your faces, if that's what you want to cook.

Thanks very much for the response. I had a suspicion that there may not be anything there but it all looks pretty messy.

I was wondering if anybody would be kind enough to take a picture of the area under discussion so I could compare what I have with what it is supposed to be like.

Thanks again and don't hesitate to request any more pictures demonstrating my girlfriends culinary expertise.

My '01 is open under the right-side passenger well also. I tried a few pics, but with the iPhone none really came out very usable. The area is "organized" but certainly open to view.

It would be simple to cover that area if cosmetics is an issue, but I would be more concerned with why you are getting so much heat coming in. Have you looked at the air flow and/or the electrics controlling the directional flaps?

Or just drive faster. That usually changes my wife's conversation away from whatever she had to say before.

Ha ha.

Yup, a dab on the right hand pedal usually results in the conversation being arrested.

Good point about why there is a lot of heat. I assumed it was because of a missing panel but now I know it doesn't exist I will check it out.

Thanks for all the input.
