Default Wheel lifting jack

Hi all can someone tell me if it is ok to use a 1.5tonne lifting jack when changing the wheel on my xk8.

I tried to change my front whel last week using the supplied jack and as I started to raise it the bearings fell out the end, luckily I was also using a small hydraulic jack at the same time which held up my car - lucky me!!

You are lifting one corner of a 4431 lb (1.97 tonne) vehicle with the other three wheels remaining on the ground. Plenty of safety margin.

I have to ask why you were using two jacks even though it turned out to be a good idea?

Yes, and don't forget the jack stands now that you're down to one working jack.
Bonne chance!
