Where is the Ignition Module located on 2000 XK8?
The Engine Control Module is located in the 'firewall extension' on the right side (US passenger) within the engine compartment. The unit first visible is the Transmission Control Module. The ECM is the larger unit.
Jumping into this thread...
All pictures I get in a google search shows two very different pictures of an "ECM" and an ignition control unit/module. In other descriptions it tells there are 2 of them. One for bank 1 and another for bank 2...? Then, that the ECM is something entirely different.
Is it a different set up in the 2000 and 2002 xk8?

The AJ26 engine through the '99 model year used separate ignition modules. Starting in 2000, the AJ27 engine had the ignition module integrated in the ECU. Introduction dates of the new engine might vary a bit based on the sales market.

Hi. Thanks.
So, I have a 2002 XK8. Should or can I safely assume that my car (newly purchased an needing lots of love and attention) (and I have a LOT of learning to do) doesn't have the 2 separate units but one located and integrated in the newer ECU design?
I have lots of post (questions) coming... Lots

Welcome to the forum. When you have a question or problem, please start a new thread instead of hitching on an old one. In this case it was an exact fit, but often the original thread is somewhat different, and future searches may not pick it up to help a new member.
Hi... Thanks!
Ask and ye shall receive... I just posted this in a new thread... Its a duzzy, so beware, lol...
