Default Where to solder?

Hi guys,

Just pulled ABS module out of 2003 XK8 to re-solder the two connections that cause the DSC fault and my module looks different to those that have gallantly demonstrated before me! First difference was I had only three bolts holding on module and after opening, cannot see where to solder. (there looks to be a few pins that have very little solder around them, are they supposed to be like that?)

Have attached a pic of my module, any help greatly appreciated!

Thank you

Here's some good pics of the pins. I just cut into mine today.

OOPs! You have the MK 25 brake system, the MK 20 system is the one most susceptible to solder joint breakage. You don't say what the problem is you are trying to correct. Did you have it interrogated for fault codes?? What were the symptoms, fault codes and/or warning messages you had.

Cheers,

Hi,

I have been getting the DSC System Fault, tried cleaning the sensors at each wheel and that didn't fix the problem so I figured I'd try the ABS module. Have reinstalled the module and will bleed (change) brake fluid tomorrow.
I did plug OBDII reader and got P1111, cleared that and got P1000. Will take car for a drive cycle after fluid change and re-check codes.

Any ideas why I'm getting the fault?

Thanks

P1000 indicates you cleared the codes and the system has not completed tests. It will change to P1111 after a few drive cycles.

You have a scantool or code reader that only covers OBDII systems. You will need to have someone with Jaguar equipment or scantools that can access other vehicle systems.

Possibilities for your issue are numerous as your system has Dynamic Stability Control [DSC]. That means you have a steering angle sensor and accelerometers, etc., in addition to wheel speed sensors.

That system is not one that can be diagnosed blind, you really need equipment to interrogate and see what part of the system has recognized a fault.

Good luck!
