Whirling noise near airbox (just under
Can someone Identify this: With key in on position but car not started I'm hearing a whirling noise coming from just under the airbox towards the front on passenger side. There is a component there I need to identify but I'm not all certain this is the cause. The sound continues once engine is started as well though it does 'fade'. Car appears to run fine, no codes etc..
Note sure my sig is setup properly this is a 2002 xrk... I have the jits installed and will hunt down that part when I get to the computer I installed it on.

Thank you Paul, I did the jtis search and yes that's the pump. I verified that I can feel flow with the engine running and after a 30 min drive the i/c was warm but not overly hot. The sound subsides (ear down by airbox) while the car is running. I've also read thru the flush/refill procedure and intend to do chem flush and refill since I'm a new owner and don't know what's in it or when. The question is should I go ahead and replace the pump while I'm at it, I'd prefer to not have a problem with it later (need to find where to purchase said pump) and I'll do the thermostat at the same time (more parts search). This was on my list but had some other projects (non car related) that was taking up my time. Otherwise the car is running well, it might have been there to some degree previously I don't leave the key in the #2 position long or often. Thank you again for getting me headed in the proper direction.
