Default Wind reflector on Drivers Wiper blade?

I was wondering if anyone know what year they started fitting the wind reflector to the drivers side wiper blade?

I didn't know these came on the wiper blades. At least they are not there on my 2005.

Came as standard on mine. You should be able to get them easily enough from any parts stores.

Part number GJABg75BA years between 03-05 according to the parts catalogue.

Do you know if the size of wiper changed at all from the pre-03 without the wind guard to the 03+? I am wondering if I can just buy a new blade for my 2001. My x-type and xj has the wind guard and I like it at high speeds.

I would think as it is primarily the same car, the size of the blades would be the same throughout.

According to the parts catalogue, the wind deflector is a detachable item.

You should be able to buy a replacement blade with the wind deflector and it should fit.

So that wind deflector piece is actually separate from the wiper arm? How does it attach (snaps on?)

Mike, They were not standard on your car. They came later in 2003

Anyone out there have a photo with the deflector attached? Assuming it is a simple snap-on I guess I will have to pick one up for my car.

Hi Doug,
If no-one posts a pic in the meantime, I will get one tomorrow for you.
Bit difficult to move around, at the moment, with a broken foot.

Hi Doug,
Sorry no pic, but I have just checked mine and the deflector simply clips into the wiper frame, so it should be no problem to fit one on yours. According to the parts catalogue they are just a few bucks.

If other members around the World are considering fitting the Wind Deflector, it's worth noting these are handed:

LHD = Part Number GJA8975BA
RHD = Part Number GJA8974BA

The Parts Catalogue shows the fours clips moulded onto the edge of the Wind Deflector better than a pic:

The one on my x-type is screwed onto the blade. I don't have one for my xkr.

I was looking at my wiper arms and am wondering if they were the original OEM or if someone replaced them with Trico or some other aftermarket arm. Is there some stamp or number on the arm itself I should be looking for? I would hate to order the wind deflector and then find I do not have the right OEM arm to hook it on.
