Default Window drop and top

Have something odd that has now happened a second time. When the top was going back up, the windows did not drop. First time happened about 2 months or so ago. It happened again yesterday. When this happens, the top will not lock. I lowered the windows and the top locked.

The top gets dropped/raised about 6 times a week.

Have not had any issues with the windows dropping upon entry/exit of the vehicle.

Thoughts?

The window system is very sensitive to low voltage and can loose memory much below 12v. Operating the top, which is a pretty high current draw, with the engine off or at idle may be pulling a weak battery's voltage down to a point that the windows are confused.

I would suggest a free battery load test at you friendly local auto parts store might be in order. Can't hurt, doesn't cost much.

Agreed. With any strange window issues, the first item to check is always the battery....

If the battery is not up to snuff, the voltage can dip quite low during the heavy load of starting, causing the electronic controllers to get hosed up. The door module controller is the most suscepible to this.
