window up/down issue
Hi there. I have a 2000 XKR RHD convertible with a peculiar problem.
Normally, when the door is opened, the window drops an inch or so and then goes back up when the door is closed. This is to give a good seal against the convertible top. It's been working fine up until now, but recently the window doesn't go back up. Open the door again and the window goes down some more; close the door and no response. Eventually the window works itself all the way down! It goes up just fine with the door buttons. Both doors are doing the same. It's not a big problem as the car is always garaged, but if I want to park the car in town the window remains open a little when I lock it.
The battery has been on a smart charger and is fully charged. I've reset the up/down limits by holding the button down.
Does anyone have any idea what might be wrong?
thanks

Hi
I had the same problem with my 2003 x100
And although my battery showed fully charged i wasn't convinced by the strength of it, so upgraded it to a stronger one...
Did reset to windows and problem solved.
Hope this helps, coz it was so annoying!

Thanks for all the advice. What a great resource this forum is!
It looks like I hadn't done the window reset properly. I went through it again and now the windows work just fine.
Thanks again.

Just to say, dont be surprised if it happens again if the window isnt used. My passenger side decides to stop working when the window is not used for a while. Yes i replaced the battery, yes ive kept track of voltage while running and no, there are no parasitic drains. I do the reset and it works fine until I dont have a passenger or open that door for a couple weeks, then i have to do the reset again.
