Default Windscreen Wipers doing something odd

Went to the car this morning and had some moisture on windscreen (for once it hadn't rained just very humid). So turned wipers on and next thing I hear an odd noise look up to see one of the wipers going off the end of windscreen. So stopped them and they both parked an inch or two higher than where they used to.

It seems somehow the park position has moved hence why the wiper goes over the windscreen edge.

I can remove both wipers and reposition them so they are in correct position but wonder if anybody knows why this should have happened.

Remove the wipers and cowl and make sure that the wiper motor mounts and pivots have not become loose. If all is well, the park swtch internal to the wiper motor may have failed, and a new wiper motor is the solution.

The bad news is the wiper arms need a puller to remove them:

They are unbelievably tight on the spindles!
