Default Winshield washer fluid level warning!

On my 2002 XK8 we get the dreaded low fluid level upon startup. I would prefer to replace the level switch but haven't located one yet. In the alternative, if I pull the connector on the bottle will that eliminate the warning, or do I need to jumper the connector. What I'm really asking, is the switch normally open or closed? Any assistance will be deeply appreciated.

You seriously want to disconnect the low level warning! .............. it's almost the only gauge Jaguar designed on the XK8 that works accurately.

As there's separate no fluid level listed in the Parts Catalogue, it must be part of the Screenwash Pump. Forum sponsor, S N G Barratt list it:

SNG Barratt - Product Details

If you are going to all the trouble of removing the wheel arch liner to get to the Screenwash Reservoir harness, may as well replace the pump .........?

You mean the reservoir, not the pump Graham.

I agree Graham, it may be the only accurate gauge in the car but with 7L of fluid you'd only have to top it off once every couple of years here in Sin City! The sensor has a separate electrical connector about one third from the bottom of the bottle. Is the sensor normally open or normally closed? Thanks in advance!

Oops!

I'd only spotted the two multiplugs - one to the screenwash pump and the other to the headlamp pump.

Default 2002 xk8 washer fluid low

does anyone know what fuse actually handles + controls the windscreen pump that contains the sensor which signals low fluid for a 2002 xk8?

i have the message even though the reservoir is full + the wipers squirt properly from all 8 nozzles

the only fuse listed seems to be for the headlight nozzles
