Wiper problem
An intermittent fault has appeared with the wipers on our 1998 XKR.
Today the wipers stopped working on my wife's short journey home from work in the rain. They started working again after a couple of minutes. All of the wiper functions stopped - it didn't matter what setting the stalk was on. Trying the wash/wipe did produce a stream of water from the jets but the wipers didn't move.
I will have a bit of time to go at this on Saturday, so does anyone have any ideas on where to look? It sounds to me like a loose or corroded connection, but that could be anywhere. All tips are welcome

This happened again yesterday while I was at the wheel around town. While stopped at a junction I tried the wipers and nothing happened on any setting but the washer jets did work as before. As soon as we moved off (poorly repaired bumpy surface) it started working normally again.
This makes me suspect a relay as the only change was vibration from the poor road surface. Is there a diagram somewhere showing the relays? I'll change it out and see if that resolves the problem.

Thanks to the electrical guide, I found that the wiper run/stop relay was the problem. The local motor factors didn't have a matching part number but an ordinary 5 pin relay fits perfectly and has the same functionality. Parts cost: 6 Euros!
If you're going to replace with a non-matching part number, make sure the circuit diagram on the side of the relay matches the original in the electrical guide.
