Trying to hit my 10 posts. So, I have a 2006 XK8 with only the black key, no remote of any sort. Where do I start with ordering a wireless remote for my particular vehicle? I have checked a couple websites and some don't even list my year.

Do I use the VIN?

OK Dibbit. I have looked through the post and it looks like there are different fcc numbers etc. How do I determine the correct remote to order? Or do all the new remotes that say 2006 XK8 work with all the cars?

 

If you buy one from a US seller you should be fine. The European remotes work on a different frequency. You want the rounded later fob:-
