Default Wondows one touch down, up?

I have a 2001 XKR that has one touch down to open the windows. I would like to have one touch up to close the window. I was wondering if the later model years had one touch up and if so is it just a matter or changing the switches or is the regulator and or other parts that would need changing.

Unfortunately there is no such feature in the later models. Has anyone workout a fix or wiring solution for this? It would also be nice for the convertible top.

If I remember correctly my very reputable mechanic had tried to create the latter function through the remote on another customer's XK8 but had issues with the Body Processing Module not shutting down properly so that approach was abandoned.

If I recall using your key in the door will close the windows and the roof.

Yes, I agree. One-touch down isn't an issue, but with one-touch up you might end up getting a hand or some other body part stuck in the window. Imagine a smoker trying to flick a cigarette out the window at the last second and their hand gets stuck. Then they have to release the steering wheel to try to roll the window down as the window breaks the bones in their hand. It's a recipe for disaster.

I did rent a Mazda 6 a few weeks ago and it had one-touch up. It kinda surprised me. I'm guessing it had some other safety feature to prevent the scenario I described above.

One touch up has been around for years...hell my 99 VW Beetle had it and even then it wasn't a new feature. It isn't a safety issue at all. All one touch up systems come with a bounce back feature so if any resistance is felt by the window, it instantly reverses or "Bounces back"

But, in a car that doesn't have the "bounce-back" feature, it could be a safety issue if you were to try to rig it for one-touch up.

Default smoke in a Jaguar?

Sam: You can envision that someone would have the audacity to actually light up in a Jaguar? I love a good cigar, but would not ever countenance lighting one inside the Jag, or even close to it...it would detract from that elegant leather-wood-and-age sense that pervades the interior of my XKR.

Smokers are driven by a craving. They'll do anything to satisfy it. Even if it means defiling a work of art.

Sam I was responding to this in your post..not someone trying to jerry rig something in the Jag to have an auto up. And come to think of it my '93 passat had auto-up as well...kind of rediculous thatthe XK8 didn't have it when it first was produced.
