Purchased and installed software. Great inquiry response from TouchScan reps {even on a Saturday night}
Ran it today on Lenovo lap top operating with windows 7.
Results were very impressive . Found 11 faults and gave details . Now i have to interpret details .
Conclusion:
For $60.00 {both items] I have a great tool despite the troubles finding this combo .
Highly recomend to "newbies " like me BAFx elm 327 and Touchscan Software.

So minefield is an appropriate word? I have a feeling I am going to give the Kiwi Wifi 2 a go, with Dashboard software. Both software and hardware are marketed on their iPhone, iPod and iPad compatibility - the only missing link is if it works with my XKR. I now know that the car is OBD2 compliant - so........ Thanks for your story though. We live and learn.

I've been searching around and found this to be a very robust option ( a little over a $100) for the iphone coupled with the dashcommand app for around $50. Works with the Ipad as well
