I saw this episode of wheeler dealers and they used a Decarbonizer on an xk8. Is this a real product with good results?

A lot of controversy with this procedure... I haven't looked into it in-depth, so I don't know. I just know there are a lot of arguments about it.

 

I have used this process on my Audi A6 and am happy with the results, as have many guys over on the UK JAG site.

I was impressed when I saw the results.

If I had an engine with 70K or 80K miles, I'd definitely try it.

 

A well cared for modern engine with no "issues" should not carbon up, even after 70 or 80 thou miles. At least that's been my experience.

My point is, consider TerraClean if you need it but not as a prophylactic. If you do have a carbon problem, try to fix the underlying cause in conjunction with whatever decarbon procedure you select.
