My XK8 4.2 surges at constant throttle after warming up. Also, on hard acceleration, the engine hesitates, then the gearbox appears to change up a gear before eventually dropping a few coggs and accelerating away.
I have taken the car to Strastone Jaguar in Cardiff who identified a faulty torque converter without even seing the car.
I subsequently took the vehicle to Bristol Transmissions who test drove the car, identified that there was a problem, conducted a diagnostic check and charged me £115 for the privillage. They told me they couldn't do anything as the computer did not identify any problems though concluded the car was malfunctioning.. Thanks a bunch.
