Hi I have a 1999 XK8 and would like to connect a amp and sub to the car as it has the basic sound system. Is it ok to connect the amp directly to the battery and take a feed from an ignition on wire to power it up? Also does the car have a pre wired feed to where higher spec models may house a subwoofer in between the rear seats?

Hi is it possible to temporarily disable the alarm whilst the car is stored off the road for 6 months? I am using a solar charger that the alarm is not very happy with and keeps going off.

Yes, like what i do is disconnect the battery and then lock the door with the keys. This way the alarm is not armed.
When you come back, open the trunk, connect the battery and everything is fine. Normally my battery lasts over this period without trickle charging

The car now has the battery disconnected the doors locked. The issue with the alarm is because the car is stored for the summer outside my elderly parents house and i live 35 miles away and they dont like the alarm going off and upsetting the neighbours which is quite understandable. Thank you for your input.
