Default XK8 Hood Replacement

Edit - nevermind, Not a good color match. See Post #5 though - what are your thoughts on an XKR hood on an XK8? Got to be better than a leaper right?

The only way to be sure is to confirm the actual paint codes....

for sure, but it does not look the same.
your new car is a solid color, these replacement parts look as if they are metallic.

I agree. The replacement parts look like a deeper metallic crimson-type red whereas the original is more of a post-box red.

Yeah - looks that way too when I look on my wife's fancy screen. Too bad. It was only $100!

I did find a 00-06 Jaguar XKR X100 4.0L Supercharged Hood Bonnet Panel Lid Red OEM

It's the same CGL paint code as my car, but it is the supercharged hood and is missing the louvers, but looks to be in great condition. They want $680 plus $325 shipping - so $1005 + need to source some louvers.

And not sure I want a Supercharged XKR hood on a regular XK8 - but filling holes and paint correction on mine would likely be $1500 - $2000 going by prices I've seen online.

Not sure why it says 2000 - 2006 since apparently the hoods are all the same - or so the intertubes tells me.

post paint code from the inside door jamb of your car to determine your color as they do not look the same. There were a couple red options - the hood looks like Carnival Red Mica and yours looks like the Salsa Red but Salsa wasn't an option until 2004MY
