Default xk8 convertible drivers door lock mechanism connector

Hi trying to find this nylon connector which fits on the drivers door lock actuator rod on an early xk8 convertible.as you can see the grips on mine are broken so door will not lock and window drops down evrytime you lift the door handle. Any advice / help greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum - from the SNG Barratt's website - it looks like this is only sold as part of the latch mechanism - for '96-99MY the Part number is GJA1080BG. You may want to try a breaker or check the forum marketplace (dodge_boy1 is breaking an XK8 and may have this)

Welcome to the forum Richard,

As Steve says, the link is not available separately.

There is a piece missing from yours - a cylindrical pin of the same material which fits through the hole and spreads the four grips to secure them to the door lock operating arm. Here it is shown from the opposite side:



The nylon part of the link is not supposed to be separated from the door lock. The link splits by pushing down on the black collar to pop out the metal rod and the nylon part then stays on the lock as it is removed from the vehicle.

There appears to be enough left on the grips for them to hold in the operating arm if you can find a suitable cylindrical pin to spread them. Doesn't need to be nylon - the end of an old drill bit of the appropriate diameter should do it.
