Greetings from the Smoky Mountains! Just picked up our first Jag - an '03 XK8, and looking forward to many miles and smiles.
Background: Wife and I are retired and loving the "Peaceful Side of the Smokies". Been playing with little British cars for 20-odd years, having restored a '57 TR3, a '73 MGB convertible, an '80 TR8, a '69 MGB GT, converted to 3.4 V6, and most recently, a Victor MG TF replica. The two Triumphs were sold a while back, and now that we've bought the XK8, I'll be selling the '73 and '69 MGBs. The TF replica is just too much fun to let go, and will give me the vintage car "fix" when needed.
Am a moderator on the British Car Forum, so may "know" some of you already. And aside from the obvious attraction to British cars, I also dabble in music, playing banjo and guitar in a local weekly jam group. We also have recently purchased a motor home and plan to do some traveling around the country. So many hobbies; so little time!
Anyway, looking forward to advice, commiseration and camaraderie here!

Greetings, Mickey. You probably know Wayne (cjd777) from the Triumph forums. He also has a 2000 XK8 and is one of the great resources here on the Jaguar forum. This forum will prove to be the most valuable tool in your XK8 toolbox, so dig in and start reading the various sticky threads at the top of this section to learn all about your vehicle and what to expect with it....

Thanks, Kelly!
And you, Jon - not sure about Wayne, as I haven't spent much time on the Triumph side in a while. But his forum name does look familiar. And I've already looked over many of the threads. Dizzying amount of info here!

Good to have you with us.
"...advice...." - lots to be had here on this Forum from members both past and present. You got to love Rev Sam's Youtube videos in the Stickies and that still resonates despite Rev Sam moving onto the X150.
"...commiseration....." - misery loves company. Always grateful to know somewhere has been there before, while cursing and swearing, when I fail in my latest attempt at the car
"...camaraderie...." - we're all in this together trying to keep our old cars going, especially as spare parts are getting thin on the ground. Sharing Home DIY fixes here on this Forum is at its best! Prompt exact answers.... sort of,.....maybe.... sometimes..... oh well..... we tried!

Welcome Mickey. When I saw MickeyR i did wonder if you had lost your way and came over to the dark side.
Glad to have you here and know you will enjoy the learning process of keeping it in top shape.
You have a whole new learning curve and I must admit much is way over my head but these guys keep me hanging in there.
Wayne (here: cjd777 BCF trrdster2000) Really both the same as the plate on the Roadster out of England was CJD777.
