Default xk8 Crank Pulley removal

OOoh, what a week its been, however the crankshaft pulley bolt is finally removed, so 1-0 to me, or at least i thought.
This crankshaft pulley is an animal, i'm not planning on taking any chances, I think one of these cheep universal pullers is the way to go.
Any comments based on experience are more than welcolme

Bones, did you do the "pull out 2-3m"m and then tap to free the pulley from the cone washer? Curious to see if you did and it was still difficult

Thanks for the information. I popped into my local garage, but they didn't have anything suitable, so I'm taking a punt on a universal harmonic balancer removal tool, just a cheep on from ebay & I will advise.

Just for interest, here is the tool I made to get the bolt off. It bent during use, just to show how much force was used!!

Did you follow the directions and pull out a little then tap, or did you use the puller to go all the way?

I just tightened the bolt very slowly a little at a time and it came off easily.

So my front crankshaft seal is leaking oil everywhere.Im trying to replace it and i cant get the crank shaft pulley to budge on my super v8 at all , when i attatch the puller and start wrenching on the middle bolt , one of the outter bolts just keeps pulling out and now the threads are gone? So the only thing i can come up with is tapping the holes out from an m8 to an m10 and applying loctite to lock the threads in , but before i approach it like this thought i would ask for any other suggestions thanks for any reply in advance

I would just go with what you suggest, wouldn't bother with the loctite though, it only "locks" a thread from rotating.
