Default XK8 front shock, lower bolt size? - RESOLVED

The part number is jzb100036. Unlike the anti sway bar bolt I just looked up, I can't find the size description for the shock lower bolt anywhere. I managed to lose the nut one afternoon, of course I had urgent plans that night. To my surprise a nut for a galvanized 3/4 inch bolt seemed to fit perfectly.

Ttytt I've never been able to properly torque it down. Somethings not right, I'd like to replace the nut or maybe both nut and bolt. Since this is my only car it'd not be so easy to pull the bolt and go comparing. By any chance does anyone know what size this bolt is? From that I can figure out the nut size.

Thanks,

John

If fine thread and I think I remember it is, that would be 16 1.5. Now that might not be the right size bolt but bet the thread is correct, so try say 12MM and go up, might wand to try a lug nut and see if the fits.
Been a while so might be wrong on both, bet its close.

With Waynes help, I got the nut. It is M12. Think the pitch is 1.25, will 2x check and post a "reference" note separately. Funny thing- for someone in a jamb, a 1/2 inch nut ( yes I said 3/4 above = typo) for a galvanized bolt will secure the bolt. Good enough to get you to a store and back, but you'll never be able to torque the nut very tight until you get the right one.

Thanks again Wayne! This is resolved.

John
