xk8 Fuel filter - don't do this
I was changing out the rear brake pads and thought it was the perfect time to to change the fuel filter and drain/refill the diff.
So...I read Rothwells great thread, and started to order the fuel filter from rockauto but determined I needed it before they would ship it to me and their shipping isn't free to begin with...the added speedy shipping cost was too much for me to swallow.
I went to Amazon and found the Motorcraft # FG-1114 which was cross referenced for the xk8 and ordered it.
(of course it arrived quickly but then I get side tracked with life and now...three months later I found the time to handle this little project)
Back to the job, I cleaned things up and pulled the old, Jaguar Filter and slipped the new Ford filter into place.
Easy, except the filter was obviously of a smaller diameter (loose fitting). I removed it, compared it to the Jaguar piece (jag = 55mm, Ford = 2"[51mm+/-].
Fortunately I had some sheet neoprene laying around and wrapped the filter to fill the gap and proceeded to finish up the work.
I've order the WIX piece and when time allows will go about this little project again.
I thought some might like to have info before ordering the Ford piece.
