Xk8 not turning the starter motor
Hi guys, I'm new to the forum and I write from Italy.
Sorry for the writing but I write with the translator, I hope to make myself understood.
I'm trying to recover an xk8 that was abandoned, I replaced the engine but now I have some problems with the starter.
I did a lot of tests
I checked all the fuses, the inertia switch, the relay of the starter motor, I checked the key trying to disarm the anti-theft by turning the key in the ignition lock
Everything is in order but turning the key the starter does not turn. I don't know what to check anymore. Can anyone give me a hand?

You can remove the starter relay and put a JUMPER WIRE across the 3-5 (30/87) relay terminals in the relay socket.
That will energize the starter circuit DIRECT without the key.
Check the ECM for a Diagnostic Trouble Code P1260.
That is the security code for KEY NOT RECOGNIZED to disable the car during a 'theft-attempt'.

All sorted thank you everyone.
Turns out to be the key and alarm fob, reloaded new software with the mobile electrician and now all good. With a new MOT and sun shine coming we are back on the road... thanks to all on this forum for your support
