No problems, just a Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday Season to ALL the great members that form this group. The collective knowledge is awesome as are the members. Only been a member for 4+- years, but you've never failed me in my quest for info. The members all over the world attest to the camaraderie of our group. Thanks to all of you. Have a great New Year!
Seasons greetings to all from down under.
Christmas at my son's place this year, l expect the 2000 km to get there will be covered in the same effortless manner as usual by the Jag.
I agree: This is by far the best--no drivel--auto forum I've yet encountered. All the best to everyone here and our beloved Jaguars this Christmas and throughout 2019!
May be something about cars built in Coventry and the folks who own them? Both this forum for my '99 XK8 and the Triumph Experience forum for my '74 Triumph Spitfire 1500 have been helpful keeping these two Brits running and useful.
Merry Christmas to All and may 2019 be even better motoring for Everyone.
The breadth and depth of knowledge amongst the membership on this forum, together with the enthusiasm with which it is shared, make it a special place.
Without this forum I wouldn’t have learned how to wrench and keep around an aging Jag. It is definitely the best tool in my toolbox.
Jimmie, could you post more pictures of your red XK8? It is lovely and you don’t see enough red coupes around. I saw a red convertible the other day and realized that I want to paint my coupe red. It is an amazing color.
Merry Christmas. Were it not for this forum, I most likely would never have purchased my Jaguars and missed out on some of the greatest cars I've ever owned. Thank you Jaguar Forums!
Ruby, my coupe In the Driveway
No question that this forum allows me to keep my Jaguar running affordably. Kudos to all the contributors.
As requested, here are two more pix of my '99 XK8 coupe who still wears her original paint in very good condition: Phoenix Red. (As you can tell from my previous post, I like red cars.)
I must admit that my XK8 was purchased as an affordable substitute for the E-Type Jaguars that were pictured on the back cover of many car magazines around the time of the E-Types introduction in the early 60s. I was fortunate enough to own both an OTS (roadster) and a FHC (coupe) E-Type in the early 80s when they were still affordable. I think my XK8 coupe captures much of the beauty of the E-Type coupe.
BTW, we spent two terrific weeks on the beach in Isla Verde prior to the hurricane. I hope recovery continues!
Feliz Navidad!
It's gorgeous. I love the Phoenix Red. Would it be a bad idea to respray my Platinum XKR coupe with Phoenix Red sometime in the future?
ˇFeliz Navidad!
Isla Verde's beaches are fantastic. Sometimes I go there with my laptop, a hammock or a blanket, and spend hours studying while listening to the soundtrack of the Atlantic Ocean's waves as they crash down on the coast. As for recovery, as far as infrastructure, the grid, and communications are concerned, we have made a nearly full recovery. The economy however, that's another story. It was already doing miserably at least a decade before last year's hurricane.
