So, I have been dreaming of opening up my XK8 since I bought it a few years ago. While I've looked at Mina exhausts, MacLeod, etc, I cruised over to my local Aston Martin dealer the other day to inquire what Aston Martin customers are doing. (My local Jag dealer looked at me funny when I asked about aftermarket exhaust systems).

The Aston Martin dealer is installing some Quicksilver Exhaust systems from the UK. www.quicksilverexhausts.com There are 3 models of varying restriction, a full cat-back system, and an over the axle system with mandrel bends for no diameter losses. I inquired about the Super Sports model, and it is currently 895 pounds. The Aston Martin dealer will do the job turn key including 2 hrs of labor for around $1350.

Does anyone have any experience with Quicksilver Exhausts? Constructive thoughts?

Also, a local Porsche tech suggested removing the rear silencers on my XK8 and replacing them with straight pipes at the rear, but I don't think that would improve sound or performance much.....

Can only tell you that I had the Mina on my XK8 and it sounded great...and I THNK it improved the performance. BTW, I installed it myself. Good luck.
