Default XKR 100 Glasgow - Engine Failsafe

Hi,
Can anyone help with my xkr 100 warning messages. It has Engine failsafe mode--cruise control not available--Incortrect part fitted, Took it to Jag garage in Paisley, He connected it to his computer and was told i needed a new brake switch and that would take it out of failsafe mode, No it didn't. Now been told all faults "COULD" stem from a faulty adaptive cruise control module. Any suggestions ?. Where could i get a Adaptive cruise module ? Are they expensive ?.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks Alex.

Alex,

I've moved your question from UK Region section to XK8/XKR section. You'll get more views from members with the same model in this section.

If the garage gave you the actual codes and not just an explanation, then post the codes here.

Graham

Have you done anything to the J gate area recently?

If changing the brake switch didn't fix it it is probably the control module

If you do need a module, try Trevor

Home Page

Trevor is a decent chap and will almost certainly be able to assist.

If you plan to be in Edinburgh sometime this week I can put my tester on it for you and give you the codes.

There are some micro-switches along the J gate path, they are reading where the shifter is. Any damage there can cause a lot of trouble codes. Check also the connectors. It was a recent post in Xj8 sub-forum about some similar messages.

Have you by chance also seen the message "Low Brake Fluid" during any of this??

Is this business intermittent or there at every start??

Seen any peculiar action at the Climate Control Panel??

Cheers,
