Default XKR 4.0 Evap Issues P0445

We have a 2002 XKR here with a very frequent problem that we see how ever we some how can not figure this one out

Car came into us with P0445 and has come back periodicly with the same fault and we have replaced everything and done everything we can think of on this car from smoke testing system to new purge and canister valves new venting system , now lately we have pin checked all wires to and from ecu to get good reading and we are seeing that the ecu is not grounding internally with the Purge valve , and as of yesterday we started to loose the o2 sensor heaters for both banks upstream , Now i really would like to rule out the ecu and being the culprit on this , I have driven this car with our IDS scan Laptop hooked up to it and have seen the system work how ever it does seem like the cycles are taking to long . First 2 phases are at 15 seconds wich is there max last 2 cycles are 30 seconds and they are at there max . My father and i are very close to wits end on this jag. Ive been leaning on an ecu replacement ever since the smoke tests and pin checks . Any other thoughts would be great to hear . i know this is an odd issue and usually with jags there can be alot of them . Hope to get some good feed back and figure this out were sitting on a serious bill here with other non related work and would like to get paid .

I have the same car with the same fault code. I have replaced the purge, ccv, tubing, gas cap. I have a strong gas smell in the trunk that comes into the cabin. Have you found the solution to your issues? I am leaning towards the ccv not getting a signal to close.

Been there and tested all circuits good continuity between all wires and numorous smoke tests as well as componant test have proven everything is in great working order all leads back to a program fault within the ecu from what we leaning towards, I have chipped and programed a few honda P28 ECU`s with Chrome Pro tuning software and can eliminate a few componants if the application of performance no longer requires them so Monday im calling over seas to a place in England that does some performance work to the jaguars and we are going to see if the same can be done to jaguar ECM`s that i can do with my software for honda`s.

Ill let you know what i come up with to who ever might be monitoring this thread

Default Gas smell resolved after 5 months of looking

Good news for me, I took another look at my hoses and finally found the issue. It was the little tube in the trunk that goes from somewhere behind the tank to the inlet to the first canister. It was disconnected and hard to tell.

Look at the picture, it is the small hose. To see it you have to take the gas tank cover off.

I'm watching your thread Michael, but unfortunately, besides the purge valve, I have very little experience with the vapor recover system. Hope you find it, or get some other ideas to try next time.

A year has gone by and the customer put the car on hold. Now its back we still have not got the EVAP to complete due to a faulty O2 circuit in the ECM , So we sent it off to be checked . Installed still have slow upstream 02 so we installed two new bosch 02 sensors. 02 sensors responding alot beter got 3 of the readiness monitors to complete I think we may have won the battle.....
