Default Xkr 4.2 2ndry timing chain tensioner

Could you guys give me your opinion on my slack tensioner - should it be sitting back from the chain- does it spring up when the engine is running or is the spring tired?
There is a 5mm gap

between the pad and chain. The tensioner sits back in its lowest position - does the tensioner have a spring in it?
steve.

Steve,

You can't ATTACH a video to a forum post but you can LINK to one hosted on YouTube etc.

do you think the spring could be broken- and would I have to strip down the primary chain and cam shaft etc to change the 2ndry tensioner?!
