This thread is little old but I am currently doing EV conversion project on XK8 and as you know, Less weight = more distance.
For Electric cars, loosing every extra weight possible means alot.

Now, I've had taken out alot of stuff from the car but bonnet of the car is super heavy on its own! like 35-40KG!
So I've asked my racer friends to custom make CF-hood.
This will be done professionally and is going to set me back like £4k
but will be worth it.

I have no picture to prove as it hasnt started...but Once I've done it, I will upload some pictures of it!
