Default Xkr cats oem vs. Aftermarket shocks

I searched the forum and swear I couldn’t find an answer to this question. I just bought a 2000 XKR Convertible with 40k miles, and the PPI says it needs both rear shocks replaced. I have the CATS adaptive suspension, and want to keep it that way, despite much higher cost. The least expensive Jag OEM shock I can find cost $471/shock, part # MXD3540AA. Meanwhile, I found these Bilstein replacement adaptive shocks that’re supposedly for XKR CATS suspension (see pictures of 2 different versions) for $353-370/shock. So I save almost $250 for the pair. Does anyone have any idea if they don’t fit, or perform differently than the OEM shocks, or if you end up with CATS failure dash lights?

Unfortunately it looks like you accidentally selected the shocks for the XJR sedan, not the XKR. Bilstein is the original supplier of the shocks, so the correct XKR shocks from them (https://www.partsgeek.com/catalog/20..._absorber.html ) would still save you a few bucks.

Arrgh! Thanks, all too common mistake for me. Yes, at $410 the delta narrows to $100 or so, may not be worth the risk that they don’t work in some manner.

There is no risk; Bilstein made the originals for Jaguar, so these are the same part from the same manufacturer. I have a full set of replacement Bilsteins on my CATS-equipped XKR and they went in without any issue.

If you're uncertain about Partsgeek as a vendor, it looks like Tire Rack has them for the same price. https://www.tirerack.com/suspension/...0&autoModClar=

Thanks a lot, that answers my original question, that they work. I might as well pocket the $100. Have a good night, really appreciate the insight.
