XKR Half Shaft Removal
I have a 1999 XKR with a clunk from the rear. Fairly certain half shaft UJ at wheel end has failed. How easy is it to remove half shafts and are any special tools required?
I found that the nuts on the inboard side were very tight and tricky to get to due to the angles. I used a bit of heat to release them. They are a specialised crimp nut.
They are also the only imperial size nut on the car, but I cant remember the exact size right now.

hello
are we talking about the 4 nuts that attach the half shaft to the differential? mine is missing one and i have been trying to figure out the diameter and thread pitch.
so far i found a 7/16-20 lock nut at the store but I'm not totally sure if its right, i need to found out for sure before i stare torqueing it down. I've cleaned it with a wire brush the best i could but im having a hard time starting the nut, due to angle and corrosion.
