Default XKR Motor Swap

So guys I have a few questions about the XKR motor.

How many pounds of boost does the stock supercharger put out?

Have any of you ever tried smaller pulleys to increase boost?

How much boost will the stock internals take?

Any information will be very helpful thanks.

The stock internals will take quite a bit. Avos has pioneered a twin screw kit and has seen 650+ hp on the stock internals. There are several members with smaller pulleys who will weigh in on those options too. The stock Eaton does get hot, so that is a consideration. I take it you plan on shoving one of these into your Lincoln LS? That would be pretty cool. Be sure to keep us updated if you do that. I think the S-type R motor would be a bit easier, since that car is closer to the LS.

As Keith says there are dozens of posts on XKR souping.
You're best off using Google 'Jaguar Forums XKR pulley' or similar to find them.

great stuff, I jumped the gun making the thread. But I will use it as a collection area in which I post all my findings to organize them.

I am doing the XKR motor because of the gains for the price, honestly putting the s-type in would be a waste. The LS and XKR do use the exact same block so it should work out fine... HAHA

No, no criticism intended at all.
It is harder to find stuff using the internal search engine rather than Google which uses better logic.

we use the same or similar platform on my Lincoln Forum and the search feature is a chore to use. I ended up making a sticky with about 100 thread links in it to threads covering the popular topics.

So my next questions, I did a bit of searching.

What gears does the XKR have so I know what I should shoot for in my LS I am thinking like 3.77's or 3.73's some where in there.

Also does the XKR use a one piece drive shaft? The LS has a 2 piece shaft and I am not sure I trust it under this load.

Thanks guys

So I see the XKR from a search has the 2 piece drive shaft as my Lincoln does. While I did find some threads on the gears, I didn't see what the XKR came with stock...

Here are some transmission specs for the 4.2 version and rear axle for 4.0 and 4.2

Edit: add 4.0 Mercedes 5G Tronic spec. I believe the W5A580 version is fitted to the XKR.

Stumpy,

The first picture in your post shows the engine as a aj34, My LS has an AJ-V8 I am not sure of whether or not is an AJ-XX or what though, do you know what the difference in the numbering is

Keith,

Fantastic, thank you. I emailed Jaguar about sponsoring this as it will be a track car when done. Hopefully I will hear back from them.

so, I have been working on preparing for this more, and I may actually get a couple sponsors for the project. As well I should be getting a new job, tripling my income which will progress this very much
