RE: 2004 XKR Portfolio.
I understand the latest Navigation DVD disc is 2008. Is this correct? If it is, is there a way to replace the GPS with another unit - one which uses a Navteq or other disc which is updated yearly (and cheaper)? Any other suggestions? Thanks.

It is worse than that, there is no update beyond 2003.
Please search the forum for 'navigation'. You will see there have been a number of different upgrade approaches including putting a portable unit behind the dash, using a Garmin GVN-53 with the existing video screen, or scrapping the navigation altogether and converting to the 'classic' gauges, since a lot of folks use smartphones for navigation these days anyway.

Mr: Meyer: My '05 XKR was up graded to a Garmin when I got it. They just put grill clothe where the switches used to be on the old nav system. This way you can hear the Garmin.
To be honest, if I thought I could match the wood on the fascia , I would change over to gauges and a clock.

I was wondering the same thing. In fact, I was wondering if it was his car. I forget who did that, but that's where I got the idea for my Garmin install.
I stumbled on a thread about the Garmin after I bought the car. I figured the seller may have been hang'in on this forum. Anyway, I bought the car from a Chrysler car lot around Seattle, I wonder what your ol' buddy traded it in on.

I doubt that is your car because he's in New York and he's still active on the forum.
