Hi -- anyone got a clue about the following? I tried to unlock my XKR conv and nothing happened. Same thing with my spare fob. Figured my car battery might be flat since the vehicle had not been used for some time. I used the key to gain access to the boot and was surprised when the alarm went off. Tried the key in the door -- and the car unlocked (not something that happens if the car battery is flat). Turned the ignition -- and the car started straight away -- nothing wrong with its battery. I cannot believe both fob batteries have gone dead at precisely the same time with no indication in advance. Reading another forum, it turns out a member had exactly the same problem. A week later he used some sort of fob signal tester that showed both his fobs were working. Mysteriously, they unlocked the car at the same time as he was using the tester and he thought the glitch must have cured itself. Half an hour later, after taking the car for a spin, he was back to square one. There were no updates to the thread despite someone else with the same problem begging the guy for info as to whether he ever got to the bottom of it.

 

After approx. 30 days the vehicle computers go into deep sleep to save power and the remote will not work until the door is manually unlocked.

 

Car had not been used tor just over a week when this problem manifested itself. I took it for a spin, left it at the store (unlocked since using the key set off the alarm), then drove home. Tried the remote fob again -- and it WORKED! Same with the spare fob -- worked OK. Left the car for a few days (locked only, no alarm set),then when I wanted to use it found the darn thing was again not unlocking with the remote fobs!!! Tried the run to the store again, same thing, left it unlocked while I got groceries, drove home -- this time the remotes are still not working! Makes no sense!!!? I can't even lock it with the key since this sets off the alarm. Help!!!
