The hose is very important as it has a small take-off on it that provides the suction for the dizzy vent system. It is NLA, if yours is shot then get a hose of the right size with a 90 degree and and use one of these for the takeoff:

Close up of the broken fir tree fitting, the walls of which were was less than 1mm thick. The broken end was just a press fir into the nut and was easily driven out

Broken fitting unscrewed from the 90 degree fitting. By the way, fibre washers are far better than copper in this application, IMO.

Blue arrow:= fill hose; Green arrow = supply from pump to jets; yellow arrow = supply from tank to pump; purple arrow = tank breather, this goes up to a small filter and ends up inside the wing under the top of the cavity.

This shows the fill hose going through the conveniently huge OEM wiring grommet into the cavity. Fill hose on the left, jet supply hose on the right. The join of the OREM filler to the fill hose is just visible on the left. Close up in next photo

Washer bottle in wing cavity behind front LHS wheel. Care needed to site it so wing baffle goes back on.

Front water manifold with reduced outlets. The smallest hole is the frontmost one. This forces coolant to the rear of the engine and prevents coolant short circuiting preferentially though the front of the head.
