Default Anybody know Darrell Turner - San Diego Soldering?

ISSUE RESOLVED: (see post #4) and update on Darrell (see post #9) - (GGG)
LATEST CONTACT DETAILS: September 2021 - see post #12 (GGG)

So I sent my seat module to Darrell Turner, (San Diego Soldering) over a month ago - several members said he was the "guru". He diagnosed the problems via email and I sent him $100 to do the repair via pay pal. He has been non responsive to multiple emails (except one cryptic "sorry will send tomorrow"). Anybody actually know this guy - or should I just chalk it up to bad judgement on my part?

Maybe he has personal problems, or no access to the internet, could be a good reason, ill, hospital., etc. Don't make judgement yet.

Have you tried calling him on 858 649-9090?

UPDATE - Don't want to give anyone a bad name. Just received a note from Darrell - he shipped my module today. Starting the process with Pay pal really seemed to get this issue moving. I suppose in the future I should do a better job of finding out a realistic time frame at the start - as I mentioned to Darrell if he had told me it would take a month I would have had no problem with it - he is obviously good at what he does. Looking forward to moving that seat again!

Good to hear Darrell has contacted you with delivery details.

Thank you for posting the update. I've added a note to your original post so everyone reading it is aware of the outcome.

FINAL UPDATE - I just received the module yesterday and installed it today - it works like a champ. In my latest email communication with Darrell he admitted to having a major health issue recently. I know your health is a very private concern, but I wish I had known this up front - I never would have made my previous post to this forum - my seat module is insignificant compared to someones health.

My name is Marcel Lange and I am the original guy that met Darrell years ago here in San Diego and I posted to jagforums and jaguarforums.

I personally met Darrell three weeks ago at his place here in San Diego. He is an elderly gentleman and he was going to fix my Super 8's main fuse box since relay #12 was bad (one soldered onto the damn board) and $800 for a new fuse box seemed unreasonable for a $5 relay.

He fell ill a couple of days after I met him and he found out he had pneumonia and had to be checked into the hospital. He's been out of commission the past two weeks but he a solid guy that has done great work and saved a lot of Jag owners tons of $$ on the stupid electronic issues we have all had.

Feel free to contact me anytime at 619-203-3127. Hoping Darrell will be back to normal next week because bad relay 12 makes my kitty think all my O2 sensors are SOL.

Welcome (back) to the forum Marcel,

Thanks for the update on Darrell. Many members here have reason to be grateful for his skills and will join me in wishing him a speedy recovery.

Our usual advice to members is NOT to post personal details such as telephone numbers on a public forum. Contact can be made easily through the forum by posting or PM (Private Message). Let me know if you want me to remove the telephone number from your post.

Please follow this link New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the New Member Area - Intro a MUST forum and post some info about yourself and your vehicle for all members to see. In return you'll get a proper welcome and some useful advice about posting to the forum.

Update on Darrell Turner:
I just spoke with him and made arrangements to send my 2160AB module to him for repair. Darrell asked me to update the forum on his whereabouts. He has moved to Idaho Falls.

email: dario2rnr@yahoo.com
Phone: 848-649-9090.

He is still repairing seat modules and other electronica. I will check back when the repair is complete and let you know how it went.
