Default inferior replacement coolant tank

Hard lesson being learned here after little plastic tube on original coolant tank failed. Purchased a new $40 tank off e pay which turns out to have several shortcomings. One the cap it came with says 110 Kpa while original states 140 Kpa. I put the old cap on the new tank for now. Wondering what anyone has to say about that. Also, the little bleed screw on new one leaks insanely; had to put old screw from old tank on new tank. But most upsetting is the level sensor which is stuck in the low position and does not seem to be rising to the occasion. From what I can tell, proper level closes the switch to low resistance while low coolant level is infinite or open. I wrote to seller but they are ignoring me so far. Will provide details of seller privately if anyone wants to avoid them.

There must be a bunch of these going around....I ordered a replacement off amazon and it leaked very shortly. However, they were good (amazon keeps a tight reign on sellers) and quickly refunded my money.
I bought a real jaguar one from one of our vendors.

I just received a coolant expansion tank from JagBits (a forum sponsor) made by Meyle. Given the number of posts of defective or poorly made tanks, I'll give this one a test with water before installation just to be sure. This one appears to be a good, well made, fully functional tank. It has the correct 140Kpa labeled cap. The top connector is fully formed. And the level sensor does not appear to be stuck at the bottom.

Ack, I just ordered one off eBay for about $40. It is supposed to arrive Saturday. Can you PM me your seller's name so I can see if the same.
I'll definitely check it out closely before installing.
Thanks.

Too bad the cheap aftermarket is such a weak copy. I remember buying mine at the dealer and I know it had to been more than $200. It would be nice to have a more affordable option. I'll likely modify the tank I have now if the nozzle breaks eventually instead of replacing it again.

Now that original is out of the car, I might try the adaptation described on here where a metal sleeve is screwed into what is left of port where plastic tube breaks off. This pathetic one just has to hold long enough to get that done.

I recently had my coolant tank replaced on my 2005 SV8. I had it replaced because mu (probably original one) started leaking. Wouldn't you know the replacement was crummy and started leaking the day after it was installed. Thankfully my shop was great and put in a new replacement tank free of charge. It was still frustrating.

In case this makes it past the censors, I offer that an enterprise with initials sea eff in city of industry california is to be avoided at all costs. Their product was poor and their acceptance of responsibility was less than zero.
