Jaguar XK60 Undergoes Total Visual Transformation
Whether “stanced” style is your thing or not, it’s impossible not to appreciate the work done on this Jaguar XK60!
The “stanced” style, as it’s known, has taken over the automotive world like a raging wildfire. This slammed, large-wheeled look is mostly relegated to cars of Japanese origin, the location from whence it originated. But we’re beginning to see more and more stanced cars of all brands, including this Jaguar XK60 owned by JaguarForums member Ridicrick. The OP actually purchased his car already lowered and sitting on big wheels. But positive feedback made him want for more.
“I bought an ’07 Jaguar XK60 from Miami Florida and drove it back to Waterloo, Iowa in an epic road trip with my wife. Also celebrated our honeymoon on Daytona Beach with the new ride. The compliments and people asking me about my car were amazing. Made me feel really good about my purchase.
Before I bought the car, the previous owner had it lowered with H&R Pro springs (2″ rear, 2″ front), which slammed the car for a really aggressive look. The tires were about 1/2″ away from the fenders. There was no rub and it drove and handled amazing! The previous owner also installed a set of STR 607 20×10 +22 offset rears and 20×8.5 +35 offset fronts. Along with brand new Nitto NT555 G2 tires, 285/30/ZR20 rears and 245/35/ZR20 fronts.”
Of course, all of this made the OP want for more. And yet, the mods started in earnest. The OP tinted his headlights and taillights, added some tire stickers, and painted the middle section of the front bumper. But it wasn’t long before things began to get serious. In a quest to build a proper stanced ride, the OP began pondering suspension, wheel, and fender flare options. Air ride is a must for this kind of stance. After all, you can’t exactly drive around with wheels cambered to the extreme without messing things up.
As his vision came together, the OP was also slowly mocking up his intended changes on an actual model.
As of right now, the OP is fighting electronic issues but pushing forward with the visual transformation. Both inside and out. One thing’s for sure – when finished, this is going to be the most unique Jaguar XK60 on the planet, bar none. And whether you’re into the stanced look or not, it’s impossible not to appreciate the passion and hard work he’s put into his project so far.
