Who told you this? It aint so! Go to the Crutchfield site and see whats available. Its only a matter of adding the sat. unit and finding an appropriate antenna system.

Yeah, you can buy anything that uses an fm modulator and can even hard wire into your stock antenna for even better reception. Crutchfield has also been able to do some pretty interesting things with the harness converters they sell, you might be able to just add it on to the stock system.

just make sure you find a nice location for the receiver that goes with it, pay the extra $$$ to have a high-end audio shop do the install vs some fool at best-buy or such, its worth it!

I may be mistaken but I believe that my 08 XKR has the sirius hardware installedas an OEM unit. I think I noticeda sirius unit (looked oem mounted above Nav DVD Player) when I had the trunk closeout off to deal with the reliable Jaguar battery issues. I don't have the sirius subscription if you are wondering why I'm not sure whether I have a unit or not :-) I don't have the car here but will check when I am in it nexttime.

Only the early, early, early '07 XKs can not have satellite added if it didn't come equipped from the factory. When you are using the radio and go to select am/fm, cd etc., is satellite an option on the touch screen? If it is, does it bring up the sirius screen with the 800 number to call? If the sirius screen comes up it certainly has the reciever.

Default added sirus

it was easy to add sirus to my 98 and should work for you if you don't have it allready as the previous posts said. if you don't have it a simple fm adapter goes between the attenna cable and the radio. antenna plugs into the adapter and the adapter plugs into the atena. then install the sirus unit. it may be worth it to have professional install. when i bought my car the adapter was allready in all i had to do was buy the receiver and install it and the attenna for the sirius and i hard wired my unit in.

Default Adding Sirius

My '07 XK did not come with Sirius. To get as integrated a setup as possible I had the dealer install an ACM (Audio Connectivity Module). I then had a pro audio shop install a Sirus unit consisting of an FM-SC1 control head and an SCC1 tuner. The audio from the Sirius unit is sent to the ACM using the RCA jacks which then delivers the audio through the factory audio system when set to AUX. The control head is mounted in the ashtray so when it is closed it still retains the factory appearance. In addition I had the audio shop set up the system so the Sirius unit would turn on and off with the factory radio to make it as seamless as possible. Lastly I had them tie the factory power antenna to the Sirius unit so it would only go up if the Sirius unit was off (just a personal prefence). The end result is very clean and sounds as good as if it were factory installed. You do, of course, lose your ashtray and cigarette lighter but since there is another power jack in the glove box, it is not a big loss unless you're a smoker. If anyone is interested I can post pictures.

Default SAT radio

Thanks for the info. I will be taking the car to the dealer for its last checkup under warrenty and will ask. If you have pics, that would be great. I was really hoping that the SAT option could be added directly to the touch screen and operate fully as the factory set-up.

Me too, unfortunately I was unable find such a solution, even though i would have been willing to pay. I will post pics in a day or two.

Default Adding Sirius

Here are a couple of pictures of my Sirius install in my '07 XK. The one with the AUX screen shows what the ACM brings to the party. Note, there is no functionality between the AUX screen and the Sirius unit other than volume control. In case anyone is wondering, yes, the ashtray can be closed to hide the Sirius control.

frustrated Jaguar1965 member, please read the sticky in the New Member Area regarding a minimum post count to obtain full access to the garage, attached images and files, etc.

Triple your post count, somehow, and you'll be fine.
