Default 2002 X-Type Amp/Sub Install

Factory head unit (No NAV) with 4 speakers, 1 in each door. I've done an amp and sub install before, but on an aftermarket head unit.

How do I make the sound connections and power connections? I don't want the amp powered all the time, do I have to wire in a switch? Or is there a factory amp that the head unit turns on I can wire into.

(edit)

Need to know whats what on the factory wiring harness so I know what to tap into.

There are lots of different ways to do this. But I pulled the headunit and attached a low level to rca converter and then ran my rca's to the trunk. I figured I would eventually replace the radio so all the wires would have been ran for me. I also ran a remote turn on wire from there as well. There are many people here who state there is something you can tap into in the trunk - I couldn't find it for the life of me. Ofcourse you will need to run a line from the battery to the trunk and the mounting screws for the factory sub make a great ground. I have totally removed the entire stock sub...

Here are the wire colors I got from a bestbuy tech, he warned me that they are just a guide so I will pass that on to you. I have a 2003 X-type.

12v - brown/white
ground - black
ignition - yellow/green
dimmer - orange

for factory amp turn on - n/a - go figure - maybe there isnt one?

speakers

left front - white + yellow -
right front - white/red + yellow/red -
left rear - white/blue + yellow/blue -
right rear - white/green + yellow/red -

Any questions let me know...
