Can I swap in a newer changer and make the system mp3 capable or will it not work? Also, anyone know a good place to buy a replacement magazine for my changer(it didn't come with one when I bought the car)?

I don't know, but I'd like to know. I've heard that standard CD changers won't work with the Jaguar; you're supposed to find an Alpine with a Jaguar logo.

According to the Jaguar manuals the CD changers in the 2004 XJ8's at least were capable of playing recorded MP3 audio. I haven't tried in mine, But I will in a minute or two, butI know that some systems are finicky about playing these files. I've had good luck recording on CD-R discs at 2-4 speed but not necessarily faster. Besides what's a couple of minutes more per CD unless you're recording 10 or more<G>

We bought one of these from ebay for our iPhone, it's only nine bucks. You tune your FM radio side to a station that is not broadcasting in your area lets say it's 91.7. You then tune the transmitter to 91.7 and your MP3 will play through your stereo. If you don't have an iPhone there are others available. Just search MP3 FM Transmitter on ebay.
