Default Mechanic for XKR head gasket ?

I am interested in the same information for my XKR. Appreciate the list of workshops, but can any members recommend a mechanic.

I am in need of a head gasket change or at least a reliable diagnosis / options.

Has anyone used AAC Automotive Specialists in Moorebank before for work on XJ6's? The man who runs it seems very approachable.

Also, can anyone recommend a good bodywork specialist in the Liverpool area?

Take it to Paradise Garage. Have used them for years all the guys are factory trained.

Just had a look on their website and it does look very promising. How do they compare on price? I'm not after the cheapest but I'd like to think that a fair price could be had.

Not sure, but you are getting factory parts and service.
All of the guys are factory trained in the UK an love there British cars.
If you want the guys that know it backwards and are fair an thorough take it there

Wow that sounds like and ad but just a loyal customer

Ive been using them for over a decade and have sourced my last 2 jags and rover 75 from them as well

Just drop by for a chat and look around. Talk to Paul the owner or Daniel the service manager

Alvin from AAC is fixing my XJ40 at the moment, he knows his stuff and has been very helpful. I would recommend him to any Jg owner.

Hi Tim,

Alvin worked his magic on my engine and now she's purring like a kitten! Picked it up yesterday.

I think Alvin is on the level, he explained what he was doing and provided evidence for the parts that required replacement. Alvin also took the time to tell what areas of the car I would need to look at next.

It's only one visit but, I'll be using AAC Automotive again.

Hi Buddy,
Glad to hear Alvin was a help, he is still working on mine at the moment. You might have seen it in there, it was the bordeax XJ40 with the bling bling rims.
Hopefully I can get it back soon so I can get it on the road, I'm itching to go for a nice long drive.Take care and keep in touch.
Kind Regards
Tim Webb

Default Sydney Mechanics

Earlier this week I drove into a car park at Marsfield and another Jag driver gave me big wave. We talked for a while and eventually got around to the question of repairers. This chap has 2 Jags at present, and has had others in the past. He gave me these details, saying that the mechanic is brilliant with Jaguars, Ferraris, Porsche etc and charges very fair prices, especially compared to dealerships: Lui (Luigi?), Dickson Street Artarmon, 0421325464.

I haven't yet used him, but but my XJ40 has an oil leak and also needs new top and bottom control arm bushes among other things. and I will be visiting Lui this week.

ALvin from AAC automotive.. known him along time, he is expensive and thats a bout it.
I rebuilt my own 4.2 enignie and took it to him for some work as he has a car hoist.. i said may aswell let him retune it.. i told him the TDC mark on the flywheel was correct when it read 4 degrees as the marker had moved.... he tuned it to the zero mark... fella didnt listen.. didnt pay him for it.
I think you can get all these jobs done onthese jags by NON jag mechanics for half the price that alvin charges.

I've been using Dynotuning in Moorebank for work on the other cars I have but thought I'd try Alvin at AAC Automotive as he's a Jag specialist.

Jason Moore at Dynotuing always has a variety of classics in his workshop and when I popped round at the end of last year for a Pink Slip, there was an S1 XJ12 in there.

Jason said he was doing a few bits and pieces on it including making a new exhaust for it as he wasn't happy with the quality or price of off the shelf items.
