Tracking down repair panels in OZ
Hello again, folks!
I've got a few areas in and around the boot in my XJ6 that need welding. Actually, probably too much and most people would wisely declare the car 'good for spares'. I figure it's good welding practice though.
As with many of the these cars, the metal around both petrol fillers is thin. Meaning transparent (see photo). And the left side shelf next to the spare wheel well is dead. (Would show photo but the uploader has just decided to declare it all too hard.)
I've rung a well known Jag parts place in Melbourne and was quoted $110 each (second-hand) for the fuel filler sections "out to about about 5cm around it". And the shelf was a "I'll have to find out - they never rust there".
All that is fair enough - but does anyone know any good sources of new and used S2 XJ6 repair panels on in S.E. OZ?
Cheers,
Tony.
