2014 Meet up & Run No.1
Sunday, September 21
Hallam Pub Car Park
Cnr of Princes Highway and Hallam Road South (or Hallam Rd or Belgrave-Hallam Rd depending on what map/GPS you look at)
10:00AM for an 11:00AM departure
Short run to a pub lunch and then head home.
Route to lunch and venue will be advised later. I will engage in serious pub lunch research on your behalf to ensure a good lunch is had by all (no sympathy please, someone has to do it).
Let me know if you think you will turn up, with partner or not (mine will be there) and I will make a booking at the pub so we are assured of having somewhere to sit.

Hi Steve, I'm a definite starter for 21st Sept, accompanied by my other half. Depending on the direction you have in mind, one suggestion is the Pig & Whistle at Olinda. It's great character pub with good food in an environment befitting our marque! If it's to be considered, bear in mind it's a smallish place and gets very busy, so bookings essential. Parking is also a bit on the tight side, I wonder if they would cordon off a parking section for us....
Cheers,
Cheers,

[QUOTE=Gippsland;1036650]Not that many choices really Steve,
Maybe Cockatoo or Emerald to the north or Tooradin or KooWeeRup to the south.
Tonys suggestion is good too but there is nowhere to park on a sunday,I think they only have road side parks there, but been awhile.
And yes I will have two peoples.[/QUOTE
I wonder about inflicting the Sunday Mt Dandy Tourist Road bun fight on the group thats all. The place itself is quite good.

I had better make an appearance to represent the series 3 (and series 1 technically) crew so Yarpos has a friend!
I do have a family members birthday that weekend, Im not sure if its the Saturday or Sunday yet but once I work that out you can count me in. There are some nice pubs down the Peninsula as well if your still looking for places. A drive to the Portsea hotel (Point Nepean) would make for a decent run, although the new freeway takes allot of fun out of it if you go that way, the old Moorooduc highway is more scenic. There are no shortage of places down there (Cape Schanck, Point Nepean National Park) for some more exploration after lunch should that be desired. Otherwise the Dandynong's are always a pleasant drive, especially in a Jag.
Regards,
Jay

So, here we go. Plan A is as follows:
Meet at Hallam Hotel car park from 10AM, for a 10:45 departure
Travelling to the Home Hotel at Launching Place (Warburton Hwy at Don Road intersection). Hotel has a large parking area which we will share with the MG car club on the day. Timing is arranged with the Hotel so we get in a little before them.
The pub will offer a simple menu on the day (3 mains, 2 deserts) for $32pp. If you want something else or have dietary needs the a la carte menu is also available.
Have looked at a few routes and will go via the C413, C412 and C424 roads. Not the most direct but probably the nicest drive, especially the last half. Its only about 1 hour, so we should arrive there about 11:45ish.
THE HOME HOTEL 2170 WARBURTON HIGHWAY LAUNCHING PLACE YARRA VALLEY VICTORIA AUSTRALIA 3139 03 59673303
From initial responses I have the following start list:
Yarpos + 2
Jagent + 1
Gippsland +1
Hawken +1
Aussie_ser3
Kylex880x
Oldjagowner
That is 7 cars and 12 people so far. Please let me know if I have made an error or you plan to bring people I havent counted so far. Closer to the date I will adjust the booking so we dont dud the owner with unused seats. They seem quite welcoming of car groups, so its nice to keep them happy.
Feel free to use the private message facility of you prefer. Once the list is finalised I will send out a message to starters with my mobile number in case of any problems on the day.
Cheers, Steve
