Hi I'm Catherine from McCrae Victoria. I have always had a love of jaguars though this is my first time of owning one recently purchased a xkr 2005 convertible. It is ultra violet blue with black leather interior and 20 inch alloys. I am totally loving it and the interest i get in it. Previously i have driven 4wds. Looking forward to hearing from other jaguar owners and reding posts particularly in relation to the xkr

We have a winter run coming up in July to the Tatong Tavern for lunch by the fire (bit of a hike from Mcrae but maybe less so now with Peninsula Link and Eastlink) , or in Spring we are thinking of going to the coast somewhere. Sofi , one of the regular run goers is working on that, not sure what she has planned.

Hi there, my name is Nick, I'm a uni student located in Ballarat. I've always grown up around Jags, my dad has two XJ12s - a road car and a track car. I've always loved the Mk1, I can remember always going to look at them at the JCCV concours when I was a little kid. I'm currently restoring a fairly rust-free Mk1, a bit of a miracle to find one! I'm planning on wrecking a few non-Jaguar cars to fund my restoration, with the first big job that I hope to get stuck into this summer is getting the body ready for paint. I'll definitely be posting as my mates and I will inevitably come across things we can't figure out.

I couldn't help barging in from across the Murray (and then some) with my very best wishes for your resto. The Mk1 is a great Jag to cut your teeth on . . . and all your knuckles; your shins; and all other exposed bits.! As you can see from my avatar, the Mk1 in the 60s was the source of my addiction . . . and after some 20 Jags over the past 50 years, still ranks as the most fun one can have while lying on yer back gazing upwards for a glimmer of enlightenment as to how to find, let alone extricate, the starter motor!
The relevant Forum dedicated to your model will have a mine of info, but it will require you to dig using the search tools, for relevant threads and posts.
Gday people, and runs planned for autumn/winter? Have finally fot my xj40 on permit, waiting for a couple of fan belts from the uk at the moment though.

Fan belts from the UK? I didnt realise they were that specific. Prices are good from there though , I have bought a few bits for my Morris from there :-)
Ive given up getting parts from anywhere around here...although maybe should have tried jag prestige in ringwood first. Just so hard to get to during the week, and theyre not open saturdays. I knee jerk get stuff off the net these days and you sometimes find even with postage cheaper than buying retail. Nevertheless bought two off ebay, 5pk975 and they are blatantly too small, and five ribs is too wide. So there you go ive ordered some from sng barrett. No rush.
:-) I do much the same. I come across stuff and think ahhh why not. I was looking for a new coil the other day (I didnt trust my 57 year old coil in the Morris to get me to Historic Winton and back). I looked at Supercheap and Morris parts specialist, and in the end got a Lucas coil from the UK for half the price, delivered to my door.
Jagdaim and Prestige seem pretty good for Jags, and are generous with their advice.

I have been in touch with the main page for about 3 weeks.
I live in the " Hub" of the best part of Australia ( in my opinion} Newlands Arm.
Never owned a Jag until a week or so ago, 2001 4 Litre S type 80ks.
Others are Falcon Ute Peugeot 308 ( the bosses) I have owned Mercs BMWs Porsches, GT Falcon, MustangFord ( lots of 1600 Datsuns) Opel Monza etc.
Bought a Jag because I have never owned one and I am now of an age??
I intend to learn ??? about some new technology, or not. The s type was 1500ks away , according to the owner it was to be the longest trip it had ever done since he owned in 14 years . So had a few issues on way home I believe are all related to never been driven more than 60Ks at a time. I had some great assistance from the main forum in sourcing a fix. Basically I think the Oxygen sensors were coated with deposits caused by its use and now they are nearly burnt off ( the smell is not good doing this) now smell has nearly stopped and fault is only showing very rarely.
Plus the car has a VERY extensive service history .

I'm new here. I live in the Bayside area of Melbourne and have a '98 XKR convertible - have included a photo below. I'm looking forward to dropping the top and getting out in the sun, now that the Melbourne weather seems to be slowly but surely improving.

I'm really just interested to know what Jaguar mechanics people are using in the Melbourne area to look after their pride and joy after I was burnt VERY badly by Brian Wheeler from JagDaim - he quoted me $3,000 for a repair and then hit me with a bill for almost $10,000!!!
So, if anyone has any ideas of where to take my pride and joy, please let me know.
Welcome to the forum. There is a vendor oriented thread in the VIC/TAS forum. Ratcliffes (Ringwood) Spiteris (Blackburn) and Caulfield Jag seems to get generally favourable reviews.
